Nissin Develops World’s First 1,000kV SF6 Gas Insulated Voltage Transformer in China

In partnership with NEW (Nissin Electric Wuxi Co., Ltd.), a Chinese subsidiary fully owned by Nissin Electric Co., Ltd. (NISSIN), NISSIN has succeeded in developing a SF6 Gas Voltage Transformer (GVT) for 1,000kV SF6 Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). NISSIN has taken this occasion to build an additional plant at NEW specifically for 800kV and 1,000kV GVT production. This new plant will begin operation in October, 2010. NISSIN expects that by 2013, NEW's sales will increase from a current JPY 2.3 billion to a total of JPY 3.0 billion.

The 1,000kV GVT was developed at the request and with the full support of the State Grid Corporation of China. Although China's large power stations are located in the inland (western) areas of the country, the major power-consuming areas are concentrated in China's coastal (eastern) areas. Construction of 1,000kV transmission systems is being pushed as a means of effectively delivering electricity from the western to the eastern areas.

Since its establishment in 2002, NEW has supplied 66- 800kV GVTs to major Chinese GIS manufacturers and now boasts the largest GVT market share in China.

The opening ceremony of Nissin Electric ( Wujiang ) Co., Ltd.

Nissin Electric ( Wujiang ) Co., Ltd. established in April, 2008 had completed its factory construction and held a opening ceremony on April 28, 2009. Nissin Electric ( Wujiang ) Co., Ltd. received necessary certificate from Chinese authorities and is ready for full production.

Nissin Electric ( Wujiang ) Co., Ltd., Nissin's 4th substation equipment manufacturer in China, manufactures oil immersed Shunt Reactor for Chinese electric utilities. The oil immersed Shunt Reactor is the most advanced reactor that has over 20% energy-saving effect compared to conventional dry type one.

Nissin Electric ( Wujiang ) Co., Ltd has a production capacity for 48 sets in year, and will be able to expand to 180 sets in year. The expansion is expected to be required soon from Chinese strong demand for electricity.

Establishment of Nissin Advanced Coating Indo Co., Ltd

Nissin Electric Co., Ltd. established Nissin Advanced Coating Indo Co., Ltd.(called ACI) jointly with Sumi Motherson Group as a service company of advanced thin film coating services using multi-arc PVD systems in Noida, India in October, 2007 and the launch ceremony was held at the new company and a hotel in Delhi, India on August 8, 2008. This ACI is the 6th advanced coating service company in the overseas countires.

India has been growing at an annual rate of more than 8%, particularly in the field of IT and automobile industry.
Advanced coating service will become one of the most important technologies while India is growing as "Manufacturing superpower". This new venture is expected to play a big role in leading to the development of future business in India and devote itself to contribute to its society and building-up of the new firm's business.

Nissin Receives Order for Total 230Mvar Shunt Reactos in Shanghai

Nissin Electric Co., Ltd. and Itochu Plantech Inc. have jointly received an order from Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company for 7 units of 35kV 20 Mvar and 3 units of 35kV 30Mvar Shunt Reactors.
One of Chinese largest enterprises, Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company (Shanghai Power) supplies electricity to 12 million consumers in Shanghai.
In Shanghai central area, where the greatest amount of electricity is consumed in China, there are concerns that demand for electricity may outstrip supply. This project calls for installation of Shunt Reactors to accommodate greater electric supply capacity from improvement of power generation infrastructure, and thereby contribute to consistent distribution of power to users.
Nissin has supplied total 118 units of Shunt Rectors to China with cooperation with Itochu since 1986. This experience helped Nissin win the order. Nissin will continue to win additional orders for Shut Reactors in China.
